According to the latest buzz in the venture market Amazon wants to buy Palm and its smartphone/tablet platform webOS and is also the nearest to the deal among all other interested buyers.
There also have rumours about Samsung being one of the interested buyers for webOS but the air was quickly cleared by the CEO Choi Gee Sung. Amazon with its recent launch of Kindle Fire is the next rising contender and is most likely closing on the deal.
Even though Amazon would have to switch platforms for its future tablet products from Android to webOS it acquired Palm and that strategically doesn’t make sense but with Amazon’s commitment and patience with its e-reader and tablet products, it certainly could integrate webOS into its long-term tablet strategy.
