E-Commerce giant Amazon has come up with something to make toy shopping a lot easier. Amazon has named this new service as YoYo. The variety of toy available today often makes toy shopping a hassle for adults. YoYo plans to make this experience easy and fun aswell as making gift giving more convenient. By launching a separate portal for toy shopping, Amazon has acknowledged that its market is indeed huge. YoYo has been in development since late 2010 by a team at Quidsi. It was built primarily to host a huge assortment of kid-merchandise.
YoYo’s site interface is simple and it also gives you personalized recommendation to make your shopping more convenient. If I’m not wrong, the first thing you’d say after going to a toy shop is something like “I’m looking for toys in the range of $20-$40 for a 10 year old boy “ . This is exactly why YoYo has a “Toy Finder” search engine that allows people to search for toys based on age, gender and price. Users can further filter search results to only see toys that belong to categories like eco-friendly, award winning, no battery required, or no assembly required. The site also features lists of recommended brands hand-picked by YoYo staff.
All in all, YoYo aims at providing a clean interface to mimic the actual toy shop experience.YoYo is launching in the United States today with a selection of 20,000 toys, books, video games and collectibles. YoYo will offer free two-day shipping on orders of $49 or more.
